Project Objective:  Students will investigate how to use the periodic table to obtain information about the elements and their relationships.

Strategy:  As a part of the study of the periodic table and the properties of chemical elements, students will access various web sites, as well as print resources, to obtain facts on elements.  They will use this information to create a brochure on an assigned element.

Rubric:  75 points (counts as a test score)

First day in the computer lab you will need to gather your information using the sites below.  There will be only one day for you to do this. We will have library books in the classroom for you to use for your text source.  You will have various times during the rest of the week in class to work on the brochure.  You may come before and after school as well as lunch time to work.  Project is due no later than Thursday, February 16.  You have the option of producing the brochure on the computer.  In- class time will involve doing the brochure by hand.

Sample 6 column Brochure.......an easier way to do it is by patterning off of the large sample in the classroom.

Resources:
Periodic Table (has pictures of elements)
  WebElements (very complete, graphics)
  ChemicalElements (good)
  Chemicool (good)
The Periodic Table of Comic Books (Fun)
  Visual Elements (very high tech--flash)
