Chapter 1 Objectives

Standard 3:  Characteristic and Interactions of Living Organisms   GLE 1   Describe the common life processes necessary to the survival of organisms (i.e., growth, reproduction, life span, response to stimuli, energy use, exchange of gases, use of water, elimination of waste).
    Compare and contrast the common life processes necessary to the survival of organisms.
    Recognize that all organisms are composed of cells, the fundamental units of life, which carry on all life processes.
    Recognize most of the organisms on Earth are unicellular and other organisms are multicellular and describe the difference between unicellular and multicellular organisms.
    Identify examples of unicellular and multicellular organisms.
Standard 3:  Characteristic and Interactions of Living Organisms   GLE 2   Relate some common diseases to the organisms that cause them.
Standard 3:  Characteristic and Interactions of Living Organisms   GLE 3   Identify examples of asexual reproduction.
