What I Do.. |
|
As a School Psychological Examiner, I help to coordinate the special services process within my buildings. I administer and interpret individual cognitive and achievement measures as a part of the special education evaluation process. In addition, I participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to conduct evaluations for students with an educational disability as defined by IDEA, or students referred because a disability is suspected. When students do meet the eligibility criteria to be diagnosed with a disability, an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) is developed. I participate as a member of the IEP team that constructs an appropriate educational plan that will help meet the unique needs of these students. |

| I am a proud graduate of Cape Central High School. I received my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education as well as my Master's degree in School Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University. I hold Missouri teaching certificates in School Psychological Examiner, Counselor K-8, Counselor 7-12, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Special Reading. I taught two years of Remedial Reading at Meadow Heights prior to coming to the Cape Girardeau Public School District. This is now my twelfth year in this district. I am currently working towards a Specialist in Counseling Education degree at Southeast. |
