Dr. Barbara
Kohlfeld, Principal |
| Dr. Barbara Kohlfeld graduated from Notre Dame
High School. She then continued her education earning her Bachelor
of Science in Education at the University of Missouri, her Master of
Arts in Education from Southeast Missouri State University, and her Doctor
of Philosophy in Education from Southern Illinois University. She
began her teaching career as a third grade teacher then taught
kindergarten, first, and fifth grades. After being a gifted
facilitator for five years for Cape Girardeau Public Schools, she became
principal at May Greene Elementary School, where she served for the
past six years. Dr. Kohlfeld is presently principal
to one of Cape Girardeau's elementary schools, Blanchard Elementary. Blanchard
officially opened its doors January 19, 2000.
Dr. Kohlfeld is involved in several professional affiliations, enjoys many professional activities, including Boys' Town Social Skills in the Schools Training, and has written several publications. She was honored as the 1997 Educator of the Year in Administration by the Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Kohlfeld's first priority is to the children she serves. She is a true example of the motto she delivers daily to all students and staff at the close of each morning's announcements... "Remember,
