Owney joined our class for a visit on February 5th, 2008.  We we returned from our special class, Owney was waiting for us.  Mrs. Hicks read us his story and shared a PowerPoint about her visit to the US Postal Museum in Washington, D.C. where she saw the real Owney.  Afterwards, Owney enjoyed watching us as we participated in our reading groups and corner activities.  Owney had a quiet lunch on his own before we joined him back in the classroom for our math class where he learned about the 3D geometric figures.  He loved our science class as we did a fun science activity about magnets.  Then he had a great time reading as we read and took AR tests during our DEAR Time.  We said our good-byes to Owney as he had to continue on his way to visit all 50 states this school year!!
