Our Classroom habitats

Take a look at all the habitats we have in our classroom!

Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches
Mothers and babies live in and under this rock.  Water is provided, but they pulled the sponge out of the bowl.  The sponge is usually in the bowl to protect the young from drowning.

Madagascar Hissing Cockroach
This hissing cockroach is enjoying a meal of an apple.  They also like carrot shavings, watermelon & cat food.

Our class has a habitat for our two turtles.  They have water and food available to them.  We have a male and a female turtle, both rescued from the roadway.

This turtle is eating a lunch of lettuce.  He also likes apples, cat food and broccoli!

This turtle is cleaning up after a delicious meal.  What good manners!

Here's our water frogs.  We have five of them and they are very active little guys.

This plant is doing very well in its water habitat.
Here's our mealworm community.  They live in the wheat germ and are feasting on an apple right now.  They feel safe under the rocks.
This is a student's habitat for their mealworm.  They have provided their mealworm with food - wheat germ, water - the apple, and shelter - the rock.
