One of the last weeks of school we repeat what we did at the
beginning of the year, only I did it all in one morning
First: The students complete a worksheet with
information about themselves. They list some of their
favorites and draw a picture or write about their future plans.
I take each child's picture with a digital camera.
Second: The students write about what they liked best
in 2nd grade on the sheet with their picture. They also draw
their handprint on a 1/2 sheet of paper and write in their name and
the day's date.
Third: The students receive a class list and are
measured with string for their height.
Then I give them their time capsules from the beginning of the year
and we compare and see how they have changed in appearance
(pictures), height (string), handprints
(compare size), favorites & future plans (worksheet)
and their handwriting and writing skills (student writing).
That was lots of fun to see how my students were proud of how much
they had changed in just 9 months. |
