Important Yearbook Information for CHS Underclassmen

Orientation is the perfect time to have your yearbook picture taken. Ensure your child is included in the Girardot by having her/his photo taken during Orientation twice: once for the student ID by school staff and once for the yearbook by a Cheekwood photographer.

Yearbook sales will continue to be offered online (cape.k12.mo.us/chs/yearbook) this year so that we may extend more options to Central students, both in payment plans and book enhancements. Although each yearbook costs approximately $90 to produce, we offset some of this expense by advertising sales. Because of this, we can offer you the 2012-2013 yearbook for only $65!

Would your business or place of employment be interested in supporting the yearbook through advertising? If so, please contact the Girardot staff at (chs_girardot@yahoo.com) or at (573) 335-8228. Commercial ads ranging in price from $50-$300 may include photos of your business. Yearbook staff members will contact local businesses in August and September. Your support is greatly appreciated.

IT’S GRAD AD TIME!

It’s time once again to honor your senior on her or his graduation. What better way to say how proud you are than to buy a Grad Ad for the back of the yearbook.

Grad Ads vary in price and include room for at least one photo and a personal message from the family of the senior. Ad rates are as follows:

                   1/8 page…. $45 (1 photo + message)

                   1/4 page…. $65 (2 photos + message)

                   1/2 page…. $120 (4 photos + message)

                   Full page…. $225 (8 photos + message)

Ads are due DECEMBER 21, 2012!

You will receive information in the mail at a later date on how to purchase your yearbook.  Please do not disregard this information as this will be the ONLY way to purchase our 2012-13 Girardot.

We are starting a new tradition with the Class of 2013.

Dear 2013 Senior,

We are starting a new Senior Yearbook Photo tradition with the class of 2013.  Each year, the yearbook staff works hard to produce a quality publication for everyone to enjoy for years to come.  We strive to make each yearbook memorable both in content and in aesthetics. However, due to the ease and convenience of digital cameras, over the last few years we have received senior yearbook images from an overwhelming number of different photography sources.  As you can imagine, this can cause a variety of problems.  Even though we have tried very hard to establish guidelines for uniformity and consistency, we continue to receive photos that have been taken outdoors, with props, with vehicles, or with unacceptable backgrounds.

After deliberating with school administrators, we have decided to eliminate this growing problem by standardizing the background, poses, clothing, and photographer.  You WILL NOT BE CHARGED for this service, and this is only for the Yearbook portrait.  You will still be able to have personal senior photos taken anywhere you choose.

Our school photographer, Cheekwood Studios, has agreed to photograph every member of the senior class at no charge.  Yearbook photos can be taken between now and August 31, 2012.  This will ensure every senior has an opportunity to meet our deadline.  Session times usually run 15-30 minutes.  Seniors and their parents will have an opportunity to view and select proofs approximately one week after the portrait session.  You may purchase portraits if you choose.

Cheekwood WILL NOT be taking senior photos at Back-to-School Orientation in August; however, they will be available for picture package purchases.  Students who have not had an official yearbook studio portrait by the August 31 deadline will not be included with the senior class yearbook section due to printing deadlines.

Points to Remember:

·        There is NO CHARGE for this session.

·        You may still take personal informal photographs; this is ONLY for the Senior Yearbook Portrait.

·        Attire is provided (boys will wear white shirt/black tie/sport coat; girls will wear a blouse).

·         You will view proofs and choose a portrait for the yearbook.

·        All photos must be taken NO LATER than August 31, 2012 in order to be included with the senior class in the yearbook.
