Child Development I


        This course focuses on the development of children from conception through age six.  Development includes not only physical maturation, but also an understanding of how emotional, social, and intellectual development are fostered and hindered.  Throughout, the interrelationship of all areas of development is stressed.  This development approach is interwoven with application to parenting and childcare situations as well as careers in childcare.


1/2 credit

Semester- 1 Period- Grades 9, 10, 11, & 12




Baby Think It Over provides students with a hands-on approach to caring for an infant.  The parenting simulation is designed to help teens make informed decisions with parenting.
