8th Grade

Pre-enrollment for high school is a year-long process in the 8th grade!  Ms. Gleeson begins the process by going over EXPLORE Test results in late December or early January.  This provides us an opportunity to talk to students about high school coursework and career plans.

In February, counselors will visit the Literature classes.   Students will be provided with information on high school graduation requirements, college entry requirements, course requests, and four year plans.  Students will be asked to complete a course request form for review by the counselors.

On early spring, the high school will be hosting a parent information night in the CHS Commons Area at 6:30 p.m.  This will be an opportunity for parents to learn about high school.  Administrators and counselors will be on hand to answer questions about CHS.

In early spring, the CHS counselors will visit with our CJHS students.  At that time, 8th grade students will receive their copy of the Course Description Handbook as well as an “official” course request form.

Any parents who would like to schedule an individual planning time for 9th grade pre-enrollment are asked to call 519-0663.  We will be happy to meet with you!
