Welcome to the Haiku Happiness WebQuest!  You will be exploring the world of Haiku through sound and movement by creating a sound carpet to illustrate the poetry.

TASK

PROCESS

Step 1 - Mr. Hoto has provided you with a site to find an interesting haiku poem to set to a sound carpet.  Go to this site to find your poem:  Haiku Gallery

Step 2 - Print out or write the poem down that you have selected from the Haiku Gallery.

Step 3 - After you have your poem, select the "special words" or lines that you think can be illustrated by an instrument, found sound, or movement.

Step 4 - Choose an instrument, a found sound, or a movement that you think best illustrates each "special word" or line.

Step 5 - At the bottom of the page write instructions for your "special words" and/or lines.  Use can use words like "first we will..." and "next...."and "then..." to help give directions for your piece.
